 NOTE
Electrical products must comply with the criteria of the European Low Voltage Directive corresponding to CE procedures.

The UL Mark is the most widely recognised and accepted evidence of a product's compliance with US and Canadian safety requirements.

What are the HAR / CE / UL Marks?
Recognition by consumers and buyers worldwide

Quality is one of the basic pillars of Top Cable's philosophy. International norms are strictly applied to all our designs. At the same time, our cables are certified based on international standards (IEC, HD, EN, Nationals,...) by the representative organisms, using the recognition marks such as HAR, CE, and UL Marks. In this article you will notice the importance of those marks to assure the quality of our cable range.

HAR MARK:
The HAR Mark is a voluntary mark for cables and wires. It is either a printed mark or a marking thread wound into the cables.

The HAR mark is much more than a manufacturere’s declaration:in fact it is a technical guarantee granted by the main recognized european Certification Bodies as VDE, KEMA, DEMKO, AENOR, LCIE, BASEC, ...

The HAR certification scheme empowers participating European certifiers to accept each other's test work, providing seamless procedures for obtaining the national marks of each participant through one test programme and one follow-up programme. The HAR-marking is accepted throughout Europe.

HAR marked cables are periodically checked (at quarters intervals or even more if necessary) at manufacturing plants as well as on the marketplace.

Benefits:
- Ability to display a mark endorsed by 19 countries in Europe.
- Reliable gateway to many European countries.
- Recognition and acceptance by consumers and buyers worldwide.
- Money and time savings: one mark instead of several.

CE MARK:
The CE (Conformité Europeenne) mark appears on products that meet safety standards that apply to all countries of the European Union (EU).

CE marking was introduced by the European Commission and it is the Commission who also set the conditions for use of the CE mark within the different CE mark directives.

With the CE marking, the manufacturer or his representative within the EU declare that the individual product is in compliance with the general safety regulations in the CE marking directives.

CE Marking on a product indicates to governmental officials that the product may be legally placed on the market in their country.

CE Marking on a product ensures the free movement of the product within the EU single market. The CE mark is mandatory in the EU member countries.

NATIONAL MARKS: ( AENOR, KEMA-KEUR, NF-USE, CEBEC)
For cables manufactured according nationals standards we are on the way to obtain the recognized national mark. AENOR for Spanish standards, KEMA KEUR for holland, NF-USE for France, Cebec for Belgium,...

Everyone of those marks are a quality mark for electrical safety and quality production. Electrical products must comply with the criteria of the European Low Voltage Directive corresponding to CE procedures. Specific standards are consistent with the European criteria. A product that carries the KEMA-KEUR mark meets these criteria and therefore automatically conforms to the legal European requirements.

UL MARK:
UL is the United States' original product safety certification organisation. Throughout the world a group of independent companies evaluates product samples to applicable US product safety requirements for access to any region in the United States.

The UL Mark is the most widely recognised and accepted evidence of a product's compliance with US and Canadian safety requirements. To North American consumers, code and regulatory authorities as well as manufacturers it is North America's most valued product safety symbol. More than 17 billion UL Marks appear on new products every year.

The UL Recognised Component Mark may be used on component parts that are part of a larger product or system. It is certified by UL to both Canadian and US requirements. These components may have restrictions on their performance or may be incomplete in construction.
