Cables for use in photovoltaic solar installations

The national energy deficit, the real estate crisis, the Kyoto protocol, el legislative support and a growing social awareness with respect to renewable energies form a new scenario full of attraction for landowners, investors, promoters and municipal governments, leading to the so-called “Solar Gardens”.

Apart from other photovoltaic installations, normally smaller and more compact, solar gardens are large extensions of photovoltaic modules installed in groups in rural land and next to a substations of the national power network, where they are connected to inject in medium or low tension the transformed solar power. The solar radiation is collected in photovoltaic cells, is transformed into current and transported through a connexion to an inverter, which converts the continuous current into alternate to introduce into the network.
