The IWCC congress visits the Top Cable facilitiesThe International Wrought Copper Council (IWCC), founded in 1953, is a trade association for the copper manufacturing industry. In their annual technical seminar held in Spain, they visited the Top Cable mill and logistics centre.Currently, the IWCC has members
throughout Europe, Japan, Australia, China, Iran, India, Mexico,
Malaysia, South Africa, South Korea, Taiwan and the United States. In
March the IWCC held a technical seminar in Spain attended by
Association representatives from around the world. In the schedule of
meetings, conferences and various activities, the attendants could
visit Top Cable’s production plant and automated logistics centre. The
50 attendants were able to observe the entire production process of an
electric cable, from the wiredrawing of the big copper rolls,
originating from the foundry, to the final quality controls of the
already finished cable, passing through the different fabrication
phases: insulation, extrusion, wiring, shielding, etc. In the logistics
centre the visitors could observe the automated storage process and
subsequent shipping. |
