Electric installations in Togo
In various communities of Togo, a small country of Sub-Saharan Africa, electric installations have been able to be carried out thanks to the push of the academic staff at Colegio la Salle school and Top Cable’s electric cable donation.
In Dapaong (capital in the north of
Togo) the Hermanos de la Salle have spent 24 years directing a sixth
form college with more than 40 students per class. In successive
summers computers have continued to be installed and electronic
installations renovated. In Tami, a small village in the savannah to
the west of Dapaong, there is a rural training centre that has been
teaching rural families for 30 years. In this centre all the electric
wiring has been renovated as well. The installation depended on two
small solar plates at 12 Vcc. A 3.3 KVA photovoltaic installation and a
220V generating unit have been made. Also, two installations have been
executed in a community that also borders with Burkina Faso, Nadjundi.
The Nadjundi installation consists of a 30 KVA unit to serve the
dwelling of the religious community and the clinic, most of all the
three-phase motors for the well’s water pumps, and also consists of two
complete 4 KVA solar energy units for the clinic and 2.5 KVA units for
the community.
Top Cable’s donation.
All of these electric installations were made possible by the effort
and initiatives of Professor Aleix Vilalta, from the Colegio La Salle
School in Mollerusa (Lleida, Spain), and Servando Pan, professor of
computer science in Dapaong (Togo). Both appreciate the donations made
from Top Cable’s factory in Bullpuig (Lleida, Spain).
