Production fire resistant cables for extreme conditions of a prolonged fire The fire-resistant TOXFREE PLUS…
VFD or EMC cables have been specially designed for use in installations where it is necessary to limit the effects of Electromagnetic Interference (EMI), also know as Radio Frequency Interference (RFI).
The new generation of variable-speed drives provide a series of advantages to their users. However, there are also some disadvantages to them. One of their main problems is that of EMI or Electro-Magnetic Interference. This can cause problems in the motor if not dealt with correctly. In order to limit the extent of EMI it is necessary to use the right equipment and a cable with EMC, or Electro-Magnetic Compatibility.
With regards to cable the necessary EMC is achieved by firstly ensuring a symmetrical distribution of the conductors. This is achieved by spliting and reducing the earth conductor to fit snuggly into the gaps between the conductors. Secondly, a special protective screen is added to ensure the required EMC when variable-speed drives are used. The result of using the right cable means a longer lifespan for the motor or pump and less down time in the repair shop.
VFD -OR EMC- CABLES
VFD or EMC cables have been specially designed for use in installations where it is necessary to limit the effects of Electromagnetic Interference (EMI), also know as Radio Frequency Interference (RFI). The source of this kind of interference may be an object or device that carries changing electrical currents.
VFD cables are designed with three phase conductors and a grounding conductor, which may be split according to the configuration of the cable. They are also low smoke emitting and halogen free for extra safety. They are flexible cables suitable for fixed installations.
A CABLE THAT OFFERS A SOLUTION TO “EMI” PROBLEM: TOXFREE ZH ROZ1-K (AS) VFD EMC
Top Cable is always keen to develop new technologies to meet the industry and consumer requirements.
The Toxfree ZH R0Z1-K (AS) VFD EMC cable offers the user solutions to the problem of EMI in the use of VFDs.
The design of this cable is as follows:
1. Conductor: electrolytic copper, class 5 (flexible), based on IEC 60228.
2. Insulation: XLPE.
3. Screen: Aluminium-polyester tape acting as a screen helically placed over the insulated conductors. Over the tape there is a tinned copper braid screen. The tape and the braid together act as a double screen to cut out 100% of the electromagnetic interference. The screens total section is approximately 10% of one of the conductors.
Polyolefin LSZH outer sheath, black colour, type ST8 according to IEC 60502-1.
